CHAPTER 10

Ascension

Because you see life in a series of events with a beginning a climax and an ending, your ideas about ascension have a built in flaw. You have seen this as a goal to be achieved and have thus missed perceiving the many moments in which you have enjoyed this state of being already. Because you have come to desire this state of existence and it has become a goal for your life, you have experienced it already. You have likely relegated that experience to your "future" but you have experienced it. What you have already accomplished, merely by reading these words and, hopefully, working with the exercises we have suggested, is to attain states of awareness that have significantly changed your life.

You have discovered the relative ease with which you shift frequencies to resonate with a variety of people, things, ideas and spiritual input. The degree of fluidity with which you live your life has changed markedly. Perhaps you have even noticed how the world has changed around you. Both the consensus reality of humanity itself and your personal universe have transformed greatly. Still, you insist that it be continuous in your memory. Notice how your world has changed in just your lifetime. You do not live in fear of nuclear destruction, the Red Menace, economic collapse, imminent world war and so on. You enjoy immediate global communications, access to a multitude of different cultures and ideas, a growing sense of the human family. Your life and that of most people on your planet is ever so much easier than ever before in your history. You have time, aside from struggling for survival, to contemplate the nature of existence and you do so without fear of reprisal from repressive governments or religions. Yes, there are still some who do not live so abundantly as you, but the percentages are dwindling daily. The predictions of mass destruction and tumultuous earth changes have mostly passed uneventfully. You stand upon solid ground still and wonder at the resiliency of your planetary host. Indeed, your world has in a very real way ascended beyond these disasters. The very stuff of physical reality has been changed in the process and you did not even notice.

Keep in mind that your present moment creates the universe you perceive. You have created a very different universe than you knew a few short years ago. Consider the possibility that other people made life choices which diverged from those you have made in recent times. Perhaps even portions of your own self have diverged from you to follow a world more filled with fear and loathing. Imagine millions of people following a different life path into those worlds predicted by so many for so long. You, with your faith in the goodness of life have stayed this course into a more joyful future. Indeed, your choice has influenced the awakening life energies in people across the globe. You have, therefore, brought others with you into this transformed reality and continue to do so.

Every time you contemplate ascension, reach for a more elevated state of consciousness, boldly follow the impulses of your heart, or act lovingly from your vision of who you most want to be, you raise your frequency of vibration throughout your whole being. This is ascension! Each moment of joy you experience is an ascending into spirit. Perhaps you cannot imagine being in this joy always. Perhaps you believe you must earn such a state of being or achieve it somehow. Perhaps you believe yourself unworthy of such joy. We remind you that this is who you truly are. Such beliefs are what stand in your way. Set them aside and redefine who you, personally, are. You are Love and nothing less.

Ascension is a process, not an event. Although you occasionally have accessed moments of bliss and pure awareness, you still return to the linear, earthbound, separated individuality that you seem to have always known. We remind you that this identity has changed a great deal in your lifetime and is much beyond the "normal" stage of development marked by your sciences. To live in a state of bliss that becomes your personal norm requires your acceptance of the full spectrum of human energies. You define human as less than God and in so doing limit the range of awareness you believe yourself able to experience. These belief imposed limits are reflected in your bodies at all levels. We want you to know that your experience of ascension will feel "normal" to you by the time it takes place. It happens within the context of your perception of reality. Already you have experienced joy which seems normal to you though a few short years ago, you would be shocked to the core by it.

Your present adventures in consciousness are pretty commonplace for you, pushing your imits a little at a time. The relative speed of your progress is described by how tightly you cling to those limits. By contemplating and acting out your conception of infinity, including your infinite self, you expand those limits mightily. By your definition a short time ago, you have already ascended. Your reality is far more ethereal than it was then. You don't often notice that because you don't look for it. Wanting the physical world to disappear to prove your new status is out of alignment with the Divine Will and the urge alone can hold you back. Expecting to see auras or hear the Voice of God or know the thoughts of others around you blocks the flow of love through your field of being. This impedes the flow of experience through your inner senses that actually accesses such information. Presently, you think and speak of ascension in self limiting terms. You chart hierarchies of spirit instead of exploring your own internal senses. Placing names on Angels and Masters and Gods separates you from them. We have told you that We are part of yourself and so We are. We have not come up behind you, tapped you on the shoulder and announced "Here we are!". We have asked you to look within yourself to find us. The realms of spirit you read about are organizations of awareness (your awareness) with varying degrees of conscious unity. You know, for instance, that in most of your dreams, their meanings are interpreted by assuming all the characters in them are aspects of yourself. Does this mean that your dreams are indeed private personal reveries with no "objective" reality? Might they not be actual non-physical experiences created just as your present life is created with the co-operation of others to heighten their impact? Yes, they show aspects of yourself. You are Infinite. All possibilities are extant within the self. Indeed, all other aspects of creation, people, things, ideas, feelings and so on, are you. To ascend you must accept everything into your identity.

Try this experiment in your next encounter with another human being. base every decision about your actions, words and expressions of every kind on the assumption that the other person IS you. Give the same attention to their expression of self as you do to your own, most precious, thoughts and feelings. Identify totally with their beingness. Feel their feelings. Think their thoughts. Love them as you love yourself. Don't question your accuracy and don't hold back your expression of your impressions. This is not as large an undertaking as it might seem. You will feel your identity growing by leaps and bounds through such an activity. It quickly becomes second nature and it is filled with joy. Soon, you will be walking your world in tremendous joy, identifying yourself with the pen in your hand, or the chair you sit upon, with each person you meet, each morsel you consume.

Look carefully at the trappings that you assume mark the passage you know as ascension. Do you expect to become invisible to the people around you? Well, do you care if they see you or not? Caring about is attachment and attachment is limitation. Go through your list of expectations about ascension and apply this rule. Do you care if...? Can you possibly love unconditionally if you care about the results? Can you love yourself unconditionally if you care about ascension? Can you imagine being fully in the present if you care about the past or the future? Ascension is about being fully aware in the spacious present. This is what you practice in meditation. Trying to leave your body is a denial of full awareness. The reason you practice meditation in repose is to lessen the impact of body awareness so as to focus on other senses. It is not to eliminate the body from your awareness altogether. Ascension is much the same. You take the most complete awareness you can achieve out into the world and express it. Leaving your world is like leaving your body, incomplete. The act of expressing your complete awareness changes your world. That awareness becomes more inclusive so your world comes with you. It does not become exclusive and eliminate your world in favor of some heavenly existence. You are already in Heaven. Ascension is the opening to Eden, where you have always been and not even noticed.

You can apply this same understanding to all of the trappings of spirituality. For all of the various descriptions of Lightbodies, Merkabah's, Archangels and Gods, there are internal expressions that are uniquely your own. Looking outside yourself by looking for these trappings is a self denial which limits you. Translate these ideas into your own inner language to enlarge your identity. Trust the validity of your own experience of life and let it unfold. Know that you have already achieved your dreams and let them expand. You ARE an Ascended Master for you ARE Us! Give up the search for proof and simply enjoy your romp through Eden. This is not work, this is play!
